A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or better. No more than two applied courses can count towards this total and each applied course counted has the equivalence of only one GCSE, regardless of its nominal size. In addition, students must achieve the specific entry requirements which may apply to this course.

Students are able to access this course via 3 Pathways equivalent to one, two or three A Levels.

This course is assessed solely on coursework and is heavily dependent on independent study. The course is assessed using a pass, merit and distinction criteria. A pass is equivalent to a grade C, a merit is equivalent to a grade B and a distinction is equivalent to a grade A at A-Level.

The course builds on the topics of study covered in GCSE PE and Sport Level 2. It is ideally suited to any student who has a real interest in Physical Education and Sport. It is also a valuable qualification for any students who wish to follow a career in the field of sport either through the higher education route or through employment.
